Protests

SHC regularly picketed in front of Consulates, shops, and institutions that supported Franco. Members of other antifascist organizations often joined these demonstrations and boycotts of pro-Franco institutions and businesses. For example, 2,500 women demonstrated in front of the House of Representatives in Washington against the arms embargo during the Spanish Civil War in 1939.
